Gas storage
The project aimed to prepare a due-diligence evaluation report on a Western European underground gas storage facility.
Besides the involvement of experts from the partner companies, based on the professional competencies of PetrolGeorge, project management also had to be provided.
Our client set up a short deadline, so there was a tight 1 month period from the data room opening to the report’s preparation. The geological, reservoir, and well engineering evaluation of the cavern-type reservoirs was an outstanding input to the later economic model. The sustainability of the stored volume and withdrawal rates were critical elements of the whole evaluation.
The unique well drilling completion technologies and related risks were assessed according to a standard internal procedure. Specifications were connected with the global API standards on the one hand and the local regulations of the given country on the other hand.
Bottlenecks in production and injection systems have been explored. The operating costs (OPEX) and possible further developments and expansion related costs (CAPEX) assessment established a strong base to define the storage’s real, hidden values.
